Do you pay taxes on disability income?

When you retire, you are living off of your social security benefits for the rest of your life. Depending on how you conducted your financials throughout your working life, your annual income from your social security may differ. Some people are still able to pull in a lot of money from their benefits while others don't make a whole lot. When it comes to your Social Security Disability benefits (SSDI), if you happen to be an individual who still earns an income of above $25,000 a year off of social security, then your disability benefits may be subject to be taxable by the IRS. If you file jointly with a spouse, you must earn over $32,000 jointly. If you make less than those amounts, then your SSDI is not subject to be taxed.
